Pools of Blue Paint and French Knots

Summer Lace, gouache and thread on Yupo paper

This is a recent piece made with gouache and thread on Yupo paper.

I live by the water and see an expanse of blue on a nearly daily basis. Sometimes the water has a green or gray or brown cast but there is always blue. It’s amazing how many shades of blue show up on that water. Sky blue, moody gray blue, midnight blue and on and on.

This piece features pools of indigo under painted and stitched Queen Anne’s Lace. The vivid color would create a quiet, yet strong focal point in a room.

Available at the gallery.
