Flowers and Art

Spring flowers in the gallery.

Spring is a slow build where I live.

It comes in its own time, in fits and starts and it’s not until this time of year that leaves are finally on trees and flowers really start to bloom. I couldn’t resist bringing some garden flowers into the gallery and snapping this photo when I saw the beautiful shadows made by the be the petals and leaves. The ephemeral nature of shadows intersects so nicely with themes I explore in my art.

This is the last available work from this particular series and is made with layers of watercolor, drawn honey bees, and a stitched geometric pattern.
