Nature’s Fireworks

Stargazing, Acrylic on canvas, 24” x 30”

As fireworks go up into the sky, I often think of the birds. What do they make of all this? I hear the Killdeer, which next across the street, frantically chirping during the entire run of the fireworks, likely trying to protect their nests.

Nevertheless, fireworks are mesmerizing. All that color, pattern, repetition, and spectacle. But this is also something we can find on the quieter nights, stargazing or watching fireflies put on a show.
