I think of these small, mixed media paintings as studies, a reason to interpret the landscape around me, which is difficult to ignore in the summers. Our peninsula comes alive with color and movement and growth.

Finishing up the small studies.

These pieces were made with layers of paint, colored pencils, and acrylic medium. Over time, I’ve come to realize that I’m a very materials-based artist and love experimenting with combinations of media.
