Artist's Statement:  

    

     I enjoy discovering beauty in simplicity. My current body of work is my attempt to “see the world in a grain of sand” by painting simple, natural objects that, for one reason or another, catch my eye.

     Painting, for me, is a spiritual process. It is my way of winding down and connecting with a greater reason for being. Ironically, it is painting simple objects, rather than ornate ones, that leads me to this place.

     This body of work is inspired by the poetry of Mary Oliver, who is a master at expressing the sacred in the everyday.
